In 2003, Erie Strayer Company installed a new Plasma Burner in the PlateShop. Normally this would not have been be a problem for the IT Department but the Plasma machine was 2000 feet from the Production Control Office and the communication media had to be Fiber Optic. No one in IT had any experience with fiber. It was at this time we met with Bill DiPlacido of NCI Technologies. The project went smooth from the initial installation to a year later when a crane operator crushed the Armored cable. NCI Technologies was instrumental in the consultation phase, design, and eventual repair of the damaged system. The system has been up and running incident free for the past two years.
